A man has been arrested over the suspicious death of a Gold Coast man in Surfers Paradise last week.

The body of Dre Nova was discovered at a Markwell Avenue home after emergency services were called to the scene after 5pm on Friday.

The sparked a manhunt across the city, eventually leading police to the arrest of a 26-year-old man in Coffs Harbour yesterday afternoon.

New South Wales officers detained the man in a car park on the Pacific Highway near Arthur Street around 5.10pm.

It is expected he will appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court sometime today where Queensland detectives will apply for his extradition back north.

Investigations are continuing.
