A man has been taken to hospital after falling through a roof in Sydney's north-west this morning.

The man, 45, is believed to have been in the middle of replacing a skylight sheeting when he fell three metres onto the deck below.

The CareFlight helicopter was sent just before 8.30am and landed at the nearby Mount St Benedict College.

The patient was initially unconscious when NSW Ambulance crews attended to him, with him sustaining head and limb injuries.

He has since been taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
