Man Injured In Houseboat Stabbing At Wavebreak Island

Police are questioning a 49-year-old man, following a stabbing at Wavebreak Island on the Gold Coast overnight.

Two men allegedly got into a fight on a houseboat around 9:30pm on Thursday, with a 30-year-old man suffering multiple stab wounds to his back.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A woman was also hurt in the incident.

She was apparently punched in the face when she tried to help the injured man.

A second man fled the scene but was arrested a short time later after police combed the area.

The 49-year-old was still assisting police with their inquiries on Friday morning.
