A man has been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital following an assault at Richmond late this morning.

Just before midday, Tuesday 27 November, Police and SA Ambulance were called to a home on Bickford Street, following reports a man had been stabbed.

When ambulance crews arrived they located a man in his 20s with a stab wound to his stomach. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his 40s, large build, with a receding hair line and a goatee.  He was wearing grey tracksuit pants.

He was last seen walking east on Bickford Street.

Western District Detectives are currently investigating.
