It has been confirmed that a 19-year-old construction worker has suffered critical head injuries after a double brick wall collapsed on him in Kellyville this morning.

According to a statement from Careflight, it's understood that some of his colleagues helped pull him out from under the pile of bricks.

The incident is believed to have been caused by the highly windy conditions.

A rapid response rescue helicopter from CareFlight arrived within 10 minutes of the incident, and NSW Ambulance staff were at the scene treating the man.

He has been treated for critical head injuries, incubated and placed in an induced coma.

The man is receiving continuing treatment in Westmead Hospital.
