Man Slapped, Kicked In Newcastle Racial Attack
Charges have been laid..
Police say a sickening attack on two people at Mayfield East was racially motivated.
A 38 year old man allegedly slapped a 47 year old man in the face, kicked him in the leg and verbally abused him in George Street at 8:45pm on Tuesday night.
A 43 year old woman came to the victim's aid after he called out for help, but was also verbally abused.
The accused was arrested a short time later in Maitland Road, Mayfield.
He faced Newcastle Local Court yesterday on assault, stalk and intimidation charges, where he was refused bail.
