Police have launched a public appeal after a man was stabbed during a brawl in Mayfield overnight.
The 25-year-old suffered leg and hand injures after a group of people began fighting at a unit complex on Hanbury Street at around 11.30pm.
He's received treatment in the John Hunter Hospital and remains in a stable condition.
Officers spoke to a number of people and arrested a 16-year-old before releasing them without charge.
