A man in his early twenties has sustained serious burn injuries in an accident at a private property in the Toowoomba region yesterday.

Toowoomba's RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to property at 4 o'clock after being notified of the accident.

It is believed that man was burned after fuel was accidentally poured over his body earlier in the day.

He suffered injuries to his face, chest and arms.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics initially treated the patient, before the LifeFlight team arrived, LifeFlight's Critical Care Doctor and Flight Paramedic stabilised the man, before airlifting him to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
