The Voice returns to our screens this week and that means one thing, a bunch of hopefuls offering themselves up as tribute to the wrath of industry heavyweights.

Whereas the days of TV talent shows giving ample airtime to those who are a little more vocally challenged than others, there are still some who are prepared to put it all on the line for their shot stardom despite their limitations. One of those is our very own Margaux Parker.

This morning on The Big Breakfast, Parker,  a long-term fan of the show, thought she’d do her part by putting together her own audition for judge and national treasure, Guy Sebastian by performing not one but two hits made famous by the inaugural Australian Idol winner.

Margaux’s penchant for singing on the show has been met with mixed reactions in the past – and by mixed we mean she is a fan of her own work and no one else is - a sentiment echoed by Nick Cody when speaking to The Voice judge this morning,

“(Guy) When you’re typing some new lyrics over in LA do you ever imagine it being butchered by a breakfast radio host in Brisbane?”

Well, today Margaux put it all on the line for her shot at glory - opening her set with Sebastian’s original ‘Choir’ before closing with the track that started his career ‘Angels Brought Me Here’.

How did she go? You be the judge!
