"He's been pretty good"

Crows Senior Coach Matty Nicks joined Bernie and Jars on Triple M's Rush Hour and, as well as running over the Essendon loss that leaves them 0-8 and who will captain the Crows this week (see below), spoke at length about Bryce Gibbs.

With the way Adelaide have been travelling, there's been a lot of noise about them needing the experience and talents of Gibbs, but he hasn't been able to convince Nicks he's got what they need just at the moment.

“It’s a balance thing. With Gibba, a lot of people are talking about him from an experience point of view. We understand why his name gets thrown up because right now we could do with some experience out there. We just want to balance that out, Gibbsy’s form has been pretty good. On the weekend he was by far our best player in the practice match, that was the first time he stood out substantially."

Does that sound like we'll see Gibbs this week? Have a listen to Nicksy on the Rush Hour and see what you think:

Matthew Nicks also gave his views on the fixture pile-up, how they "shot themselves in the foot" against the Bombers, and who will captain the side this week:
