On Triple M's The Hot Breakfast this morning, Melbourne ruckman Max Gawn gave an insight into how the new third-man up rule is affecting the competition.
The AFL was littered with examples of confusion over the weekend, with the process of 'nominating a ruckman' proving to be a little tricky to roll-out.
Gawn shared a funny moment from the weekend, however, when he was stitched up by the new rule.
"Tom Hickey was on the boundary line in a little scuffle and I thought ‘here’s my chance to get an uncontested hitout’," Gawn said.
"So I’m asking the umpire ‘throw it in, throw it in’ and Seb Ross - the midfielder - had nominated to Ray (Chamberlain)."
"He’s pushed me under the ball and I’ve had a go at Ray and Ray goes: ‘what, did you want me to email you?’"
