Central Coast Mayor Lisa Matthews has shared an update on the council's resolution around the locals who were involved in dredging The Entrance over the weekend.

One participant in particular, Ben Webber, feared that he would be facing a fine for his part in the operation, in which he used his digger to aid in releasing the built-up water in the area.

Matthews confirmed that she reached out to Webber in the early hours of the morning to pass on the decision - and it's good news.

The Mayor also addressed questions about the since-deleted video she uploaded to her own Facebook page while wading through floodwater and expressed regret at how the delayed decisions about The Entrance had played out.

"What I wish we would have done is acted quicker on the EPA's "stop work" notice ," Matthews admitted when asked if there was one thing she could change.

"And come to some answers so that we could have got that dredging program up and running."
