Men's Shed members Ian Bond and Peter Heness presented City of Mount Gambier Mayor Lynette Martin with 100 handcrafted wooden toys for the Mount Gambier Community Mayor's Christmas Appeal.

The City of Mount Gambier are calling for donations, officials launching the 2018 Mount Gambier Community Mayor's Christmas Appeal.

The initiative provides aid to those in need throughout the holiday season.

One hundred handmade wooden toys have been donated to the appeal, made by members of the Mount Gambier Men's Shed.

Council hopes to see a united and direct local response to the needs of the community during the holiday season.

The funds will be distributed jointly by United Care, A.C Care, Lifeline South East, St Vincent de Paul, and the Salvation Army.

Locals can donate directly by calling the City of Mount Gambier Customer Service counter, or by sending a cheque.
