Melbourne's Cherry Bar Is Leaving AC/DC Lane

Melbourne's favourite rock'n'roll bar Cherry Bar is leaving its home in AC/DC Lane.

The world famous venue took to their social media this morning to break the news announcing it's an "End of an era".

The post confirmed the popular rock bar won't be closing, but relocating to "persevere it's long-term future".

After 19+ years in its current inner city location the bar is moving in "change or die" response to its inner city neighbours, in a bid to keep live music alive.

Cherry Bar has seen the world's biggest rock stars walk through its doors in the past 19 years. Venue owner and Triple M Melbourne's music correspondent James Young confirmed the new located Cherry Bar will continue to host world class and local rock music.

Last year Triple M hosted Melbourne rock greats JET in AC/DC Lane to announce the Get Reborn tour.

Cherry Bar will have its final night in AC/DC Lane Sunday 31st March 2019.
