MORE DETAILS:
The Bureau of Meteorology has revised their forecast, tipping a maximum of 43 degrees on Friday before a blustery cool change rolls through.
It would mark one of Melbourne's hottest days in years, and one of its hottest nights.
We're expected to reach a humid 36 degrees on Thursday before the temperature dips to a bloody uncomfortable 29 degrees overnight.
The 43-degree day would be Melbourne's hottest this summer before a rapid cool change rolls through, with the temperature expected to drop 15 degrees in 20 minutes.
A total fire ban is in place on Friday.
