It was one of the great off-field coups that saw David Fifita turn his back on the Brisbane Broncos to join the new wave of hope down the M1 at Robina.

On an estimated $3.5 million-dollar, three-year deal Fifita has been in a rich vein of form this season on his home deck, scoring 11 tries in his last seven games and CBUS stadium including a barnstorming effort in the first half of yesterday’s upset romp over a hapless St. George-Illawarra outfit.

However, it’s Justin Holbrook’s decision to continue starting Fifita on the bench that has fans baffled. Speaking on The Big Breakfast with Marto and Margaux NRL insider Dobbo questioned why the twenty-one-year-old, who has scored as many tries this season as his previous three at Brisbane, continues to be used as a ‘super sub’.

The Titans are still in striking distance of the top eight and with upcoming games against Bulldogs and the Cowboys a return to September action for the first since 2016 is not out of the question.
