A worker has died in a tragic workplace incident at Moranbah North Mine.

An emergency response was initiated immediately when a personnel carrier and a grader collided in the access drift close to the surface of the mine.

The ten workers in the personnel carrier immediately received medical treatment on site.

Two injured men are being assessed in Mackay Base Hospital, two others were taken to Rockhampton while the remaining six didn’t need further treatment.

The driver of the grader received immediate treatment and was taken to hospital where sadly he passed away.

A full investigation is now underway.
