Sydney's train timetables are set for another overhaul, with new services on the cards to combat overcrowding and usage needs.
According to 9News, Premier Gladys Berejiklian is set to announce more trains to be added to the T1 Western Line, travelling from Penrith to the Sydney CBD.
This will include more services during peak hour on week days, as well as more frequent weekend services.
The T4 Illawarra Line (Cronulla to CBD) will also be receiving some additional services, with trains slated for five-minute intervals during peak hour.
It is understood that Opal data has contributed to the change, with it demonstrated that a large number of customers were using especially the T1 service on weekends.
