In a raw and honest interview, South Toowoomba MP David Janetzki, talked to Triple M's Lee Faulkner about stepping down from his position as Deputy Leader of the Opposition.

QLD LNP's second-in-command since November 2020, Mr Janetzki, announced his decision to take a step back on February 26.

Talking for the first time about his resignation as Deputy leader, Mr Janetzki, with his heart on his sleeve, cited the toll that the extra responsibility was having on his family.

“It was just putting too great a toll on my family at the end of the day," he told Lee.

"My most important job in life is Husband and Father."

Mr Janetzki will remain the Shadow Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Investment and Trade.
