Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme says they're going somewhere different with their new album Simulation Theory.

WOLSTENHOLME EXPLAINS:

Muse has been quite experimental with their last few album, exploring various real-world concepts and issues.

Wolstenholme told Triple M's Tom & Olly there is an overarching theme to the album, Simulation Theory and explained what inspired it - but it's taken a step back.

"Sometimes, you kind of feel like you get the greatest pleasures of life just going for a little walk, you know?" he said.

"I think that's something that maybe of a lot of us are battling with at the moment, because we are in this weird place where technology's taken over so much of our lives that you forget to live in the real world sometimes."

Simulation Theory is available online and in-stores now.
