Mystery Chemical Fume Scare At Varsity Lakes

A major health scare at Varsity Lakes has resulted in 16 people being assessed for exposure to chemical fumes.

Queensland Ambulance crews were called to the scene on Varsity Parade at around 11.40am on Wednesday, with reports more than a dozen people had been affected.

Just one of those was suffering from respiratory symptoms on arrival, and was transported to Robina Hospital in a stable condition.

Investigations continue into the cause and source of the incident.
