A couple of nasty car accidents over the weekend have landed three people in hospital with serious injuries, including a young child.
A boy under the age of five was struck by a vehicle outside a Tallebudgera home at around 5.30pm on Saturday.
He was conscious but in a serious condition when paramedics transported him to hospital.
Meanwhile a woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with serious injuries following a two-car crash at Mudgeeraba at around 11am on Sunday.
The collision happened at the intersection of Franklin and Somerset Drive, trapping the woman in her 70s in the wreck, before emergency services arrived to free her.
Then around an hour later, another woman suffered a serious leg injury when a car and motorbike collided near Advancetown in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
