Dual Brownlow medallist, Nat Fyfe, has certainly had a challenging start to the year so we got him on Triple M Breakfast with Basil Zempilas and Xavier Ellis this morning to speak to him directly about how his body is holding up and if we will be seeing him play any time soon.

"I'll hopefully start running within two weeks and look to be playing in somewhere around six weeks."

Despite recent suggestions of early retirement, Nat Fyfe revealed that his recent back surgery ran smoothly with recovery beginning within the next few weeks.

"Shoulders fine, back will recover fully and I'll be playing footy this year for sure."

With a loss over the weekend, he admitted St Kilda really came to play, recognising that the Dockers have areas of improvement and need to bounce quickly.

"We were sloppy...we've got to be more professional when the momentum is against us."

Joining big names like Cristiano Ronaldo and John Florence as a Therabody Athlete, Nat Fyfe uses the Theragun admitting it is crucial to his recovery.

"I love really focussing on prep... it’s going to get me over this back injury for sure."

As uncertainty thickens around the pandemic, with Eagles being forced to call in top-up players over the weekend, Fyfe said it was amazing to see some WAFL players get their chance but is keen for teams to put their best foot forward.

"As quickly as we can resume normal and get back to everyone putting out their best team, that's the best thing for the game."

Without a solid timeline for when he will be back playing, Fyfe remains confident he will be up and running this season.

"Don't be surprised if it's four and don't be surprised if it's ten."
