Nathan Buckley, fresh off his appearance on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, joined JB & Billy on Triple M's Rush Hour to preview the footy season ahead.

Buckley will enter the AFL media foray in 2022 after a decade at the helm of the Pies, so Billy Brownless asked him how he fared with the media now he's flipping sides and whether there were people in the media he particularly listened to - or didn't.

He explained that his relationship with the media changed drastically about halfway through his coaching career.

“In the end, I actually just listened a whole lot less,” he explained.

“In the second half of my coaching career, I pretty much decided that I was going to switch off from all of it, to be honest. Good, bad or indifferent.

“I used to think that I needed to be across everything to front a press conference and sort of have I suppose the authority to know what was going around and to answer.”
