New committee to tackle domestic violence

A steering committee made up of Wagga leaders and influencers has been established to help change community norms, attitudes and behaviours towards women.

Led by Wagga City Council, it’s aiming to highlight the link between inequity, disrespect and domestic violence, and address the city’s alarming statistics.

Wagga’s domestic violence rates currently sit around 29 percent above the NSW average, with the development of the project and steering committee coming at a critical time.

The members of the Equity Steering Committee are:
