David Attenborough is gracing our screens as the narrator in the all new BBC Natural History Unit show Dynasties

Executive Producer Michael Gunton explained the narrative:

"At its most basic, Dynasties is about animal families, and the unique situations where the family has the ability to control and dominate the landscape." - Michael Gunton

Five episodes will tell the stories of five of the most celebrated and endangered animals on the planet: Chimpanzees, Emperor Penguins, Lions, Painted Wolves, and Tigers.

Will Lawson, the director of episode 2 which focuses on Emperor Penguins, joined Dan and Leigh this morning to talk about his experience of filming for 11 months in Antarctica, and the controversy surrounding their decision to assist the penguins in their time of need.

The episode generated significant discussion following its air in the UK on November 18th, 2018 when the producers intervened after the penguins became stuck, saving their lives. Some viewers believed they should have let nature run its course instead.

Listen to the full chat with Will Lawson in the catch up below, and let us know what you think of the decision in the Facebook comments.
