Runaway Bay police have been cracking down on drink driving in the northern suburbs.

Officers conducted more than a thousand random breath tests over the past few weeks, and caught nine people drunk behind the wheel.

One of those was more than four times the legal limit, blowing 0.205% blood alcohol content.

Another 60 people were slapped with infringement notices over that time, most of those for speeding, including one motorist caught going 122km/h in a 60km/h zone on Oxley Dr.

They were been slapped with a $1,000 fine, lost eight demerit points and had their license taken away for six months.

Meantime, a heads up from police, they will be targeting speeding hotspots on Oxley Dr and Paradise Pde in Paradise Point over the Easter Long Weekend.
