News just in, Woodstock's 50th anniversary festival has been canceled.
Put together by Woodstock co-founder Michael Lang, the 2019 event was set to take pace in Watkins Glen, New York, but has been cancelled to protect the brand name.
Investor Dentsu Aegis Network said yesterday; “Despite our tremendous investment of time, effort and commitment, we don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock Brand name while also ensuring the health and safety of the artists, partners and attendees.”
The 50th Anniversary festival was a far cry from the original classic rock line-up, with the 2019 bill featuring JAY-Z, Miley Cyrus and Akon.
