Know someone worthy of a nomination for being a star citizen? Nominations for Mansfield Shire Citizen Awards are now open!
Nominations will be accepted until Monday, December 10 and will include the following categories:
- The Citizen of the Year Award - This Award gives us the opportunity to celebrate kind and useful deeds and recognise community service by individuals
- The Senior Citizen of the Year category which will be open to receive nominations for people over the age of 65 years
- The Young Citizen of the Year - May be nominated by groups or individuals and recognises outstanding achievement and contribution to the community by a person up to the age of 28;
- The Community Event of the Year is presented to an individual, organisation or group in recognition of the event’s valuable local contribution.
“This is the chance for all of us to publicly thank a person who has done a lot for the community, often with little recognition,” said Acting Mayor Cr. Harry Westendorp.
“If you have been thinking about someone who enhances our community in any way or who has attained significant personal achievements, please put their name forward” he said.
Awards for all categories will be acknowledged as part of the community Australia Day celebrations on Saturday January 26, 2019. Nominations close on Monday 10 December, 2018.
You can download nomination forms from Council's website www.mansfield.vic.gov.au or they can be collected from reception at Council's municipal office at 33 Highett Street, Mansfield.
