Mayor, Cr Jenny Hill will today present grants to nine charities in the North Queensland region totalling $32,764 to help them continue to provide vital services for our local community.

As part of Queensland Community Foundation’s (QCF) annual regional grants program, the local North Queensland Community Foundation (NQCF), today announced grants to assist a variety of local projects.

North Queensland Community Foundation chair, Lieutenant General (Ret'd) John Caligari AO, DSC said he was very pleased to be able to provide these grants to local NQ groups who are working hard to help others in need.

“The locally based and often smallest local charities are in the best position to identify and respond to local NQ needs and we are just delighted to be able to help them provide these vital services for our community,” he said.

“The pool of applicants this year was the strongest yet, so it is more important than ever that we as a community continue to build our fund to meet the needs of our local charities.  I’d encourage people to ‘give where you live’ and help support the North Queensland Community Foundation.”

Bowen Meals on Wheels Inc. $1,069
