Chasing his seventh Australian Open, Novak Djokovic can almost call this place home.

But his accent needs some work.

NOVAK'S SHOCKING AUSSIE ACCENT:

Djokovic did his customary post-match interview with John McEnroe on Channel 9 after quarter final opponent Kei Nishikori had to retire during the second set, with Djokovic up 6-1 4-1.

McEnroe asked him why he'd been so successful at the Australian Open over his career, which somehow prompted him to reply with an Aussie accent.

"I don't know, maaaate," he replied, bringing the crowd to a cheer.

"Good on ya. What else? Fair dinkum. Fair dinkum.

"And that's all!"

Fair dinkum indeed.
