Now, over 47 percent of the state are fully vaccinated.

Chief Health Officer Dr. Kerry Chant says that they’re pleased with the rates, but it's crucial people keep rolling up their sleeves.

“I urge you to be one of the most highly vaccinated populations in the state, yes you have achieved 80% in some of your local government areas, yes you’ve achieved 90% in some. I am challenging you to push even further.”

NSW has recorded 1,259 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian is urging people in areas of concern to continue staying cautious.

“We still have a lot of work to do, we still had 1259 cases overnight. The stabilisation and decline in some areas of concern is pleasing, but what we do want to see is continued stabilisation and case numbers coming down over time.”

Vaccinated people living in NSW are expecting to see further freedoms rolled out as the vaccination rate continues to rise.
