Nuffy or Nostradamus? Drunken tattoo may be stroke of genius

 Despite our best thinly veiled efforts to keep a lid on the Brisbane Lions incredible season, one man absolutely ripped it off two games into the season.

Earlier in the year we met Jarryd Vernon from Victoria, who, in the hours before Brisbane’s Round 3 clash against Port Adelaide at the Gabba got ‘Brisbane Lions Premiers 2019’ tattooed on his upper thigh along with two team mates on a cricket trip to the Gold Coast.

The image first came to the attention of Facebook page ‘Nuffies on AFL Pages’ in April.

Now, with the Lions only (technically) three wins from a Grand Final, this diesel-induced decision may be a stroke of genius.

However not everyone saw the funny side, including Vernon’s partner.

“Now there’s a fair chance of it happening she’s coming around to it a little bit” he told Dobbo on The Rush Hour on Tuesday night.

Brisbane faces Richmond at the MCG on Sunday with a home Qualifying final on the line. Expect a few more fans to start asking their local ink-merchant for a similar design if the Lions get up on the weekend.
