An off-duty police officer made two arrests yesterday while taking a relaxing week off work.

Senior Constable Scott Miers has told News Corp he saw two youngsters running away with handbags through the window of his Varsity Lakes apartment while two women cried out for help.

He gave chase and managed to tackle one of the boys, and once back up arrived he spotted the other teen and managed to grab him as well.

A 16-year-old and 14-year-old have since been charged with stealing offences.
