THE BIG BREAKFAST
Shane Van Gisbergen has broken his drought at Bathurst and finally stands proudly as King of the Mountain.
Speaking on The Big Breakfast this morning the Kiwi driver who has been runner-up at Mt. Panorama on two occasions, 2016 and 2019, told listeners that he never thought his maiden victory may never come after the safety car came out twice in the in the final ten laps.
“It wasn’t in the bag 'til the end… it was never a sure thing” Van Gisbergen told Marto, Margaux and Nick Cody
The cheeky New Zealander didn’t miss the opportunity to take a crack at Australia after a weekend where the Kiwis thoroughly beat up on their antipodean counterparts and it was Van Gisbergen Senior who seemed to be enjoying the celebrations even more than his son.
“couldn’t really understand Dad, he was a celebrating a bit”
