Yesterday’s damaging winds carried on all through the night and continue this morning, leaving 39,450 properties without power during the wild weather’s peak.
SA Power Networks has confirmed 30,000 properties have been affected in the metro area alone, with State Emergency Service crews responding to 800 calls since yesterday, mostly for downed trees, power lines and ripped off roofs.
Residents at Glenelg North were left homeless when the strong winds ripped the roof off their unit block on North Esplanade just before 10pm last night.
