Mackay & The Whitsundays residents need to get ready for intense storms. TC OWEN is set to make landfall in the Gulf of Carpentaria today and is expected to wreak havoc across the East coast with High winds and possible thunderstorms are predicted from tomorrow through until Sunday. The BoM predicting the worst of it to hit on Saturday and Sunday with winds expected to hit up to 40 to 50 km/h increasing to 60 km/h. Daily rainfall totals of up to 150mms
