Following Patrick Naish's stellar performance against the Dockers in the Community Series and recent addition to the West Coast Eagles list, Triple M's Rush Hour with Andrew Embley and Michelle Anderson called him up to congratulate him.

"I don't know if it was pressure, it was probably more excitement... I loved it, I played at Optus, and I enjoyed playing with the boys."

Starting the pre-season strong, Andrew Embley asked Patrick what Eagles supporters can expect from him in the upcoming 2022 AFL season.

"Probably more of an outside winger at this stage who can also play inside... my versatility is my strength."

Flying in Thursday, Patrick had a short time to get to know his team mates before the Derby with the Fremantle Dockers on Sunday night, admitting he will be learning the boys names before round 1.

"I came in Friday, had a little run around... by then I probably knew 10 bloke’s names, there were still a fair few 'mates' being thrown around."

Relocating to Perth, he moved in with teammate Luke Shuey and partner, Danielle, for the last week, acknowledging that they have been great hosts.

"Very thankful that they've opened their doors up for me."

Leaving his family in Richmond, Patrick admits his parents are over the moon for his transfer.

"Mum and dad are pretty wrapped they're going to get a holiday... their main priority is that I'm happy."
