Police Forced To Taser Man At Charlestown Square

There's been confronting scenes at Charlestown Square this afternoon.

It's alleged a 22-year-old man wanted in relation to a domestic incident stabbed himself several times after he was approached by officers outside of the Dan Murphys just before 1pm.

Police were forced to taser the man before then administering CPR.

He was transported to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

Police have launched a critical incident investigation.
