Police Impersonation in Port Macquarie
Cash stolen on Crestwood Dv.
2 men have been arrested for allegedly posing as police officers and stealing cash after searching a car in Port Macquarie last month.
About 10pm on Sunday 25 November, two women and a man were parked on Crestwood Drive when they were approached by two males allegedly, claiming to be plain clothes police officers.
The men began searching the car and allegedly took cash from a wallet. Both men left in a car.
The incident was reported to police and an investigation commenced.
About 3.15pm on Friday, police executed a search warrant at Pacific Drive, and a 24-year-old man was arrested.
He was charged with impersonate police officer and exercise powers, steal from person and common assault.
He was refused bail to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on Saturday.
The other man was arrested earlier in the week, on 26 November. A 28-year-old was charged with impersonate police officer, steal from person, 2 x good in custody, possess prohibited drug, possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition and possess prohibited weapon without permit.
He is due to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on 6 December.
