A Sydney man, who had been convicted of the murder and dismemberment of two lovers, is currently on the run in Sydney.

Damien Peters, 50, was on parole when he removed an electronic tracking device yesterday.

He was last seen in the Randwick area at the Prince of Wales Hospital at 4.15pm.

The device was later found in Kensington.

Police have advised the public not to approach Peters if he is spotted, but instead should call 000.

Peters has a snake tattoo around his right upper arm, is described as being Caucasian and between 175cm and 185cm tall.
