Queensland has declared Victoria a hotspot and police are strengthening their presence around the border.

Victoria recorded four new local COVID-19 cases overnight are are on day one of their seven-day lockdown.

Queenslanders returning from Victoria face self-funded quarantine stay amid Melbourne lockdown 

However, Queensland has reported two new cases in hotel quarantine today, with no local transmissions.

Residents travelling back to Queensland will be about to re-enter, but they will be placed in hotel quarantine.

Police will be doing spot checks on cars entering the state.
