A 52-year-old man from Grahamstown has been charged with cultivating prohibited plants, handling explosives without authorisation and possessing a prohibited drug.

It comes after police executed two search warrants, one in Grahamstown and the other in Batlow.

The Batlow search allegedly uncovering a cannabis crop, and a number of prohibited articles including fireworks.

Officers say they located cannabis plants, and dried and packaged cannabis leaf during the Grahamstown search.
