Melbourne will now host all 18 AFL clubs as the league deals with nation-wide border closure, both Adelaide teams have flown interstate to assist fixture planning.

Despite South Australia not being plunged into a snap lockdown, the AFL have been forced to react to growing changes and restrictions

SA health officials revealed five new cases for the state on Wednesday, forcing new laws to be rolled out including mandatory mask wearing and limits on home gatherings.

With the AFL scrambling to keep the season intact, reshuffling is expected to be revealed for round 16.

"Bringing the two South Australian teams to Victoria today minimises risk for the competition as we progress the season in a constantly changing environment," AFL fixture boss Travis Auld said.

Adelaide were scheduled to play Brisbane at Adelaide Oval, while Port had prepared for flying east for their match against Hawthorn.

Along with the Crows match, the other floating schedule is between Fremantle and Carlton - with the venue potentially altered from Optus Stadium in Perth to either Geelong or Tasmania.
