Toowoomba Regional Council will temporarily close Post Office Road between Ravensbourne School Road and Mcerlean Road, kicking off this week, as part of culvert upgrade works.
The project is due for completion in June 2019 (weather permitting).
Toowoomba Regional Council Chair of Infrastructure Committee, Cr Carol Taylor said the $708,500 upgrade project involves replacing the existing steel culvert with a concrete culvert.
“The new structure will improve flood immunity, safety for all road users and ensure continued access for the local community.
During the construction period, traffic management and detours would be in place for the safety of crews and motorists.
Council asks the community to please drive to conditions and be aware that temporary changes to traffic flow will occur.”
Construction work will take place generally between the hours of 6.00am – 6.00pm on weekdays however, there may be a requirement to undertake some weekend and night works. Council will seek to minimise disruptions where possible.
Council wish to apologise for any inconvenience and thank residents for their patience during construction.
