THE BIG BREAKFAST

Former Powderfinger bass guitarist JC (John Collins) has spoken about the difficulties of reinvigorating the Brisbane live music scene this morning on The Big Breakfast.

JC, 50, co-owns Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley Music Hall which will be playing host this Saturday to BrisBand – Four at the Fort raising money for music charity Support Act.

Speaking to Marto and Margaux this morning Collins told listeners that from the the date of the long-awaited opening of his venue it has been difficult to keep acts flowing through the door since the COVID outbreak, despite Queensland’s relatively shorter lockdown period.

“For the main hall I think we’ve had five or so shows”

The boutique venue which opened in July 2019 was the setting for JC’s performance during Powderfinger’s One Night Lonely livestream last May.
