New South Wales has recorded 1083 local cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and 13 deaths.

Of the 13 deaths, 1 person was in their 40s, 2 people were in their 50s, 2 people were in their 60s, 5 people were in their 70s, and 3 people were in their 80s.

In good news, restrictions will ease for the LGAs of concern from tomorrow, Monday September 19, including: 

  • There will be no limit on the duration of outdoor exercise and recreation.
  • Outdoor gatherings of up to 5 fully vaccinated people will be allowed in a person's LGA (or within 5km of their home).
  • Shopping, exercise and outdoor recreation can be done 5km from home or within their LGA.
  • Residents can attend a small wedding (max. 11 people) in Greater Sydney as a guest.
  • A person's single bubble buddy can live in Greater Sydney (no 5km limit).

Premier Gladys Berejiklian has also made an announcement regarding outdoor pools.

"The New South Wales government is pleased to announce that from next Monday (September 27), all public pools will be open in a COVID-safe way," she said.

As for the vaccination rates in NSW, 81.9 per cent have received their first dose and 51.9 per cent are fully vaccinated.
