Queensland has recorded zero new cases in 24 hours as the state attempts to increase vaccination rates over the weekend.

While there were zero new locally acquired cases, three new overseas cases were recorded in hotel quarantine.

Despite the good news for Queenslanders, the state is still well behind on vaccinations coming in at second worst, with only WA still behind.

The state currently has 71.73 percent of the eligible population half vaccinated while only 55.5 percent are fully vaccinated.

Treasurer Cameron Dickon commended the state on their diligence, prompting Queenslanders to continue getting tested.

"Queensland, you are doing so well. Let's continue to accelerate what we're doing when it comes to vaccination,"

Queensland’s vaccine rollout is being taken to the next level this weekend with pop-up clinics available at 33 Bunnings store state-wide.

These clinics can be found on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Logan, Gympie, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Mackay and Townsville.
