It is often said that the Chinese word for ‘crisis’ composed from the two Chinese characters for ‘Danger’ and ‘Opportunity’ – It’s factually incorrect but it’s a nice sentiment at times like these so we’re happy to roll with it.

The COVID-19 pandemic has seen hundreds of businesses forced to close their doors and created shortages of items we never thought we’d encounter (See ‘Toilet Paper’).

However, a bi-product of downturn is a sudden spike in creative solutions and innovative business adopting flexible means to stay afloat.

Queensland companies are leading the charge in the fightback against COVID-19 and one of those is one of those is heritage brand Bundaberg Rum.

‘Bundy’ has kept Queenslanders ticking over since 1888 and now in the wake of a shortage of hand-sanitizer Bundaberg Rum has teamed up with Beenleigh Rum to provide a very modern solution.

Speaking this morning on The Big Breakfast, David Smith, CEO of parent company Diageo told Marto, Margaux and Nick Cody how the iconic brand will make it happen and most importantly, can we drink it?
