Riverina Local Land Services is emphasizing the importance of traceability on Travelling Stock Reserves, after discovering a non-compliant mob of cattle on one of the region’s reserves.

It comes after an announcement that radio collars would be fitted to a percentage of each of the mobs using the TSR network, for improved traceability and record keeping.

While fitting collars to one mob last week, staff counted 537 head, which was more 182 more than allowed on the permit.

45 didn’t have the required National Livestock Identification tags, so they couldn't be traced.
